Fresno State Felines
What do horse barns need as much as horses?
Barn cats!!
This is a new venture for our equine program, one that we think will
benefit horse people and homeless cats.
We'd like to use our equine program website to find horse people who
could give a homeless cat a home and could benefit from having a feline
friend to help control rodents in the stable area.
We'd like to partner with a pet rescue or shelter to find homes for cats
with horse people.
Here's how it works:
If you can provide shelter and food for one or more cats, contact us.
We'll work with local pet shelters and rescues to pick out one (or more)
cats for you. These cats are FREE at this time thanks to
cat-loving donors who want to see cats get out of shelters and get to
work hunting rodents and living a good life at a stable, instead of at a
shelter.
These cats are healthy, vaccinated and neutered. Most are adult
cats, some were formerly feral cats, so not all of the cats are well
socialized. However, these cats need homes too.
You can pick up the cats picked for you at the Fresno State Quarter
Horse Unit. If needed, we may be able to deliver the cat(s) to
you.
If you'd like to support this program, but can't take a cat, please
consider making a donation to this program so other cats can find homes
at horse barns.
This is a new program and a way that our animal science students can
provide a service to our community serving both our human and feline
constituents.
Please let us know if you can give a cat a home, or make a donation to
help fund this program.

Thank you!
